"Keep your smoke alarms alive!" Here's the problem. Research
shows that Smoke
alarms work best and fastest when mounted high where the smoke rises
first, but… Sometimes
batteries are borrowed for other tools and toys. Many fires start in the kitchen, but since cooking can cause false alarms, people often do not have a smoke detector in or near their kitchen. Injuries sometimes occur when people fall while climbing on chairs or ladders to change batteries. People in wheelchairs, the elderly, and vertically challenged people all experience difficulty maintaining smoke alarms. And tragically, these same people often need more time to escape a fire. Some existing smoke alarms are intentionally disabled when they become nuisances, with chirping low batteries or false alarms. Why Alarm Tender™ offers THE Smart Solution! Easily attached to a wall, Alarm Tender™ can position the smoke alarm in the proper location, AND also enable a person to easily slide the detector down to "hush" the alarm, change the battery, perform family fire drills and the recommended weekly testing. A spare battery can be stored in the base of Alarm Tender™, keeping the spare battery available and preventing “borrowing” of the alarm’s battery for other tools and toys. Alarm Tender™ is great to use in open stairwells, where attempting to reach the smoke detector can be very dangerous Almost anyone can mount Alarm Tender™ permanently and quickly on a wall using the self adhesive tape attached to its base and the screws (included) Alarm Tender™ can be attached using only the screws, and then be removed and taken to a new location. With the Doorframe Attachment Brackets, available on our SHOP page, the Alarm Tender™ can be mounted directly to the side of a wooden doorframe. No need to make holes in your walls. Great for renters and college dorms. Even in apartments and
homes with hard-wired smoke detectors, battery alarms are recommended
as an additional security measure. There is no situation where one has
TOO many smoke alarms! (Especially when you can keep them alive with
little effort!)
